Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries

Join professional snorkel instructors and marine biologists on guided snorkelling tours to learn more about South Australia’s unique marine life.

Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries (EMS) is run by community members who are passionate about providing hands-on learning experiences in the ocean for all ages.

Based on New Zealand’s successful program, Experiencing Marine Reserves, EMS provides a program of events for community and schools to better understand and protect both our unprotected marine environments and marine park sanctuary zones.

The school program includes educational classroom activities and snorkelling tours in and around marine parks, as well as providing teacher professional development and access to existing marine science resources.

You can find out more about EMS and upcoming events on Facebook.

EMS snorkel events are supported by Natural Resources Adelaide and Mt Lofty Ranges and the Department for Environment and Water.
